CEATECに見る景気回復
10/5～9まで千葉の幕張メッセでCEATECが開催された。筆者は、
関連している企業の出展のアシストで二日間、現地へ行ったが、
出展の状況を見ていると、景気回復の兆しが見られるよな出展
ブースが多かった。今回は、ちょっと違った観点でCEATECの
レポートしようと思う。
CEATECという展示会は、公式サイトの開催趣旨の一番目に
書かれているように、『通信・情報・映像が融合したデジタル
ネットワーク時代を反映した、最新の技術・製品・システム・
ソフトを一堂に集め、その成果を情報発信する。 』という展示会で、
さまざまな電子機器、ネットワーク機器などの総合展示会である。
このところ、幕張メッセで開催されるような大きな展示会が
なかったこともあって、日本国内だけでなく、海外からも多くの
来場者が来ていた。
さて、出展内容に関しては、いろいろなメディアのサイトで紹介
されているのでそちらに譲るとして（笑）、筆者の見るところでは、
展示会場に活気が出てきていることに驚かされた。
各社のブースの規模もさることながら、非常に凝った演出をして
いる企業が多くあり、特に家電やホームコンピューティング関係の
展示ホールは、バブル期のような状態である。大型の液晶や
プラズマのTVの紹介では、ダンサーが踊っていたり、アカペラの
グループが熱唱したりとまるで、コンサート会場のような状態である。
そして、その様子をカメラで捕らえ、大型プラズマディスプレイで
表示するといった状態で、派手な演出がほどこされている。
また、そのような展示ブースの中に車が置いてあり、家電や
プラズマディスプレイと何の関係があるのだ？と思ったら、未来の
カーナビの展示である。メータ類もすべてディスプレイになり、
CCDカメラをバックミラーや車の後方に設置し、それらの画面がすべて
表示されている。もう、まるで、SFに出てくる未来の車のコンソールの
ような状態であった。（これだと、外を見なくても運転できる？笑）
さらに、NHKも大きな展示ブースを構えて、これから始まるデジタル
地上波や、各種デジタル映像のアーカイブなどの展示やデモを行って
いた。とにかく、デジタル放送のメリットを伝えるのに躍起になって
いるのだろう。
このところ、このような展示会は、東京ビックサイトや、横浜パシ
フィコで開催されることが多かったのだが、久々に幕張のホールを
使って、巨大な展示会を見ることができた。そして、特に家電関連に
ついての展示では、景気回復の兆し、勢いといった気迫が感じられる
展示が沢山あり、これから延びていくという予感がした。
何かと暗いニュースが多いが、確実に業界の中では、新たな動きが
起きており、また、消費者も本物を見抜いて、自分に価値のある
ものをしっかりと選ぶ、また、企業も、本当にユーザに価値のある
ものを提供できる企業が延びていると思う。営業をすればいいとか、
いいものを作ればいいというのではなく、消費者が何を望んでいるのか、
何に価値を求めているのかをしっかりと考えぬいて、ビジネスを展開
していきたいものである。
