IT化は目的ではない
最近は少しは少なくなってきているのだとは思うが、ITバブルのころ
に多かったのが”IT化”が目的になっているプロジェクトだった。
大手の企業でも、”ここのオフィスのIT化が目的です。その為に予算は
確保しました。”などということを自慢している役員や部長などが多く見
受けられた。
もう、お気付きのことと思うが、”IT化”が目的などというのは、運送屋
が、本業は、より多くの物を運ぶのが目的（要するに売り上げを上げる）
なのに、”トラックを１０００台にするのが今期の目標です”と、言っている
ようなもので、自社が何でビジネスを行っており、儲けがどこから出てくる
のかが分かっていない証拠である。
IT化をするのは、手段であって、ビジネスそのものにはなりえない
（もっとも、例外はあって、ITコンサルタントやシステム構築屋は、IT化
そのものが売りなので、その業界では”相手の企業にIT化”してもらう
のが目的）。
まずは、何をビジネスに儲けるのか、あるいは、コストダウンを行うの
かを検討し、さまざまな手段の中のひとつとしてIT化を捕らえるようにし
たいものだ。
