そもそもITとは？
ITという言葉を”イット”と呼ぶ人はさすがにいなくなったが（笑）、分
かったようで分かっていない言葉の一つではないだろうか？
雑誌や新聞、テレビといろいろな場面で使われているが、それを明確
に説明している文章を見たことが無い。
アスキーのデジタル用語辞典を見ても”特に明確な定義があるよう
でもないが、感覚的には「コンピュータとネットワーク(特にインターネ
ット)に関連する技術」程度に考えておいてよいだろう。”と、なんとも
頼りない解説である。
しかし、基本に忠実に考えてみると、IT＝Information Technologyで
あり、情報技術なのである。簡単に言ってしまうと、情報をどう扱うか？
という技術のことであり、決して、コンピュータを導入することや、イン
ターネットに繋ぐことを指しているのではない。
従って、ITを活用するということの真髄は、コンピュータ化することで
はなく、社内の情報の流れや管理方法を整理して、無駄な帳票を書
いていないか、誰も活用していない管理台帳がないかなどを確認し、
無駄な帳票や台帳があれば廃棄し、情報の流れが悪ければ、新たな
連絡体制や帳票の書式を変えて作業効率を上げるということなので
ある。
まずは、コンピュータシステムや新しい会計ソフトを褒め称える宣伝
を横に置いておいて、社内の業務の見直しからはじめていくことがIT化
の第一歩なのである。
