ホームぺージでテストする
前回は、ホームページを作る前に、顧客対象がインターネットを
使っている人と重なっているかどうかを見極めなければならないと
書いた。しかし、ある方から、「それは分かるけど、どうやって調
べればいいかが分からないんだよ！」と言われた。
確かに、その通りである。最初から、どこに顧客がいるのか分か
れば、誰も苦労などしない。分からないから、悩んでいるのである。
そこで今回は、顧客がいるかどうかを確かめるホームページにつ
いて考えてみよう。
ホームページを作る前に明確にしなければいけないのは、目的で
ある。今回は、インターネットのユーザで、自分の扱う商材に関心
のある人、購入してくれる人がいるのかどうかを調べることを目的
とする。これで、考えた場合、どのような内容を見せるべきなのだ
ろうか？ いくつかあるとは思うが、次の２点は外せないだろう。
・商材の説明
・販売者の説明
これ抜きにホームページを立ち上げても意味は無い。いや、極端に
言えば、この2ポイント以外は必要ないと言いきってもいいかもしれ
ない。
顧客がいるかどうかを確認するのが目的なのだから、これ以外の
情報は必要ない。それを欲張ってしまって、注文のページをどうす
るかとか、代金支払い方法はどうするかとかを考え出す人がいる。
人によっては、商品の写真ではなく、社長の写真をどうするのか？
とか言い始める人がるので驚くばかりだ。
顧客がいるかどうかの反応を見るためには、いろいろな工夫をし
ないといけない。それは、集客の工夫である。集客というと、すぐ
にプレゼントとか、景品で人集めを考えてしまう。それを否定する
わけではないが、そこで集まった人たちが、商材に興味をもったの
か、プレゼント欲しさに集まった人なのかを見極めないといけない。
そこまで一歩踏み込んで工夫しておかないと、何百万アクセスもあ
り、何千人も応募してきたといって喜んで、インターネットショッ
プを作ったら、ぱったりとアクセスされなくなったなんてことにな
りかねない。
顧客の反応を見るために、いろいろな工夫が必要である。一般的
にアクセスしやすくするとか、入力項目を少なくして、できるだけ
多くの人に応募してもらうなどといったことが、言われることが多
い。しかし、最初にも書いたように、『顧客がいるのかどうかを確
認する』のが目的なのだから、応募数がおおければいいのか？とい
うとそうではない。ちょっと興味あるかなレベルの人、つまり、お
金を出してまでは欲しくないけど、もらえるんだったらもらっても
いいかなのレベルの人が多くても売上にはつながらない。あくまで
も、商材にお金を出してもいいと思えるほど関心があるかどうか？
なのである。
そういう視点で見ると、『商品についてのご意見をお聞かせくだ
さい』とか、『今後、当社からご案内をお送りしますので、住所を
お書きください』といった項目を作り、そこを記入しなければ、応
募できないようにして、”本気の人”に絞り込むというのも一つの
方法である。
このように、テスト用のホームページを作り、まずは、商材に関
心のある人たち、購入する人たちが、インターネットのユーザかど
うかを見極めてから本格的にインターネットに進出しても遅くは無
い。そして、『インターネット上で申し込めないのですか？』とい
う問い合わせがきてから本格的に作るというのも手である。
