ホームページを見た人に期待するものを決める
いよいよ今回から、ホームページの内容について考えてみたい。
筆者自身も以前は、定番の（？）ホームページの作り方をしていた
時代がある（もう7、8年前の話だが）。会社案内、事業内容、商品
案内、（あれば）求人案内である。しかし、こんな作り方では、効
果的にホームページを活用していない。では、どんなポイントに気
をつければいのだろうか？ 今回は、それについて考えてみよう。
何度も同じようなことを書いているが、一番重要なことは、『ホ
ームページを見た人に何をしてもらいたいのか』ということである。
「そんなの聞くまでも無く商品を買ってもらうことじゃないか！」
と怒られそうだが、本当にそれを真剣に考えているのか？といいた
くなることが多い。
まず、ビジネスの基本に立ち返って、お客さんとお金のやりとり
をどうやっているのか？をしかっかりと分析してほしい。具体的に
商材を販売するときにどんな支払いをしているか？、お客さんはど
んな観点で商材を選んでいるのか？ということである。
当然ながら、何百万円もの高額商材をホームページだけで売れる
とはだれも思わないだろう。インターネット白書などを見ると、イ
ーコマースの統計などを見ると、不動産などがかなりのパーセンテ
ージを占めているが、それは、インターネット上で取引があるので
はない。インターネットで物件を見て、店舗に行って実際に物件を
見て契約するのだ。余談ではあるが、そもそも、オンラインで賃貸
物件の契約は法律上できないのである。
では、せいぜい数万円のものしか売れないのか？というと、そう
でもない。車のパーツとか、有名タレントのDVDプレミアムセットと
か、限定蔵元吟醸酒セットとか、そういうものは、中には何十万と
するものでもインターネットだけで売れているのである。
混乱してくる読者もいるかもしれないが、これらの商材の違いや、
ターゲットにしている顧客の違いが現れれているのである。前者の
例のように不動産などは、ターゲットを絞り込むのが難しい。特に
賃貸物件などは、そこへ引っ越してくる人をターゲットにしないと
いけないから、どこに住んでいるのかなど分からないし、どんな人
が来るのかも分からない。また、毎年引越しするという人も少ない
だろうし、得意客というのも作りにくい商材なのである。
一方、後者の場合、車を改造するのが大好きなコアな人たちや、
ヨン様のおっかけおば様達、日本酒の利き酒大好きなお父さんといっ
たように、ターゲットを具体的に想定できる。だから、そういうタ
ーゲットにぴったりと合う人たちのハートをがっちりと掴めば、ホ
ームページだけの商品説明で、しかも、会員限定で購入できるスペ
シャル商品という売り方をすれば、ファンにとってはたまらないも
のがあるだろう。
このように、商材、ターゲット、支払い方法の基本をきっちりと
分析することが重要である。それを見極めて、だれに、何を、どう
やって売るかを決め、ホームページでは案内だけに留めるのか、そ
れとも、オンライン決済まで行うのかといったことを決めておかな
いといけない。
簡単に決められないという人も多いだろう。特に、これからビジ
ネスを起こそうとしている人にとっては、どうしていいか分からな
いことも多い。しかし、そこは、ホームページの特性をうまく活か
して欲しい。つまり、『内容を変えるのは簡単にできる』ことであ
る。リアルな店舗を構えて、うまくかないから、レイアウトを変え
るとか、売り方を変えるといったことをやろうとすると、いきなり
何百万、何千万の話になるが、ホームページなら、自分でやれば、
時間さえあればできるし、自分でできなくとも業者に頼んでも数万
から十数万のコストである。まずは、前にも書いたが、まずは小さ
く始めて反応を見ながら進めることができるのが、ホームページの
いいところなのである。
ここまで読んで、「業者に頼むと数万～十数万円って、そんなに
かかるのか！！」と思った人の為に、次回は、ホームページを開設
するコストなどについて書いてみよう。
