本格的なWebサイトならXOOPS
Webコンテンツの表現するツールとして、Blog、WiKiを紹介
したが、今回は、本格的なWebサイト構築ツールであるXOOPSを
紹介しよう。
またしても読みにくいアルファベットのスペルだが、XOOPSは、
”ズープス”と読む。（しかし、日本人には覚えにくい....
筆者も、最初に見たときは、まったく読み方が想像できなかった。笑）
さて、このXOOPSだが、本格的なWebサイトが、５分で構築できると
言われていてる。画面の構成を見ると、BlogやWikiのように見える
かもしれないが、自由度は、一番大きくて、いろいろなサイトを見て
いると、”えっ？ これがXOOPSで作られてる？？”と驚くような
サイトもある。
ただ、当然ながら技術的にはそれなりにスキルが必要で、PHP、
MySQLといったものに触れたことがないと難しい。これまでに紹介した
Blog、Wiki、XOOPSと比較すると
＜Blog＞
日記サイトとして、こまめに情報発信できる。ユーザからコメントを
受け付けることが可能。技術スキルはほとんど不要。
＜Wiki＞
技術スキルがあまり必要ないが、簡単なルールを覚える必要がある。
Blogのように日記サイトとしても使えるが、ユーザが編集もできるので、
情報交換や、データベース的に情報を蓄積して適宜修正していくなど
使い方が広がる。
＜XOOPS＞
技術スキルは必要。PHPやMySQLをインストールできないと使えない。
但し、自由度はかなり高く、日記サイトのようなものだけでなく、会員制
にして、決められたユーザだけに見えるコンテンツを作りこんだり、
動画などのコンテンツも発信することができる。
といった違いだろうか？
まずは、Blogから情報発信の練習をして、徐々に何をするかを検討し、
それぞれの用途に応じてツールを使い分けていく、あるいは、ステップ
アップしていくのがいいかもしれない。また、何度も同じことを書いて
いるが、”情報発信”が目的になってはいけない。”どんな情報を誰に
対してどういう目的で発信するのか？”をしっかりと検討してからでないと、
いくら便利なツールでも、すぐに使わなくなってしまう。その点だけは、
勘違いしないようにしないといけない。
